A SOUTHERN Tasmanian woman was lucky to escape with no injuries after driving down an embankment into a river at Primrose Sands on Saturday afternoon.
40-year-old Grace was driving along Primrose Sands Road, when she lost control and accidentally drove down the embankment into the Carlton River.
Luckily quick thinking by off-duty Primrose Sands volunteer firefighter Kevin Haley in assisting Grace out of the passenger window saved the day.
