Saving Grace: woman rescued after driving into river at Primrose Sands

An off-duty volunteer firefighter has come to the rescue of a Southern Tasmanian woman who drove down an embankment and into a river.

A SOUTHERN Tasmanian woman was lucky to escape with no injuries after driving down an embankment into a river at Primrose Sands on Saturday afternoon.

40-year-old Grace was driving along Primrose Sands Road, when she lost control and accidentally drove down the embankment into the Carlton River.

Luckily quick thinking by off-duty Primrose Sands volunteer firefighter Kevin Haley in assisting Grace out of the passenger window saved the day.
