Hailing from northern China, dumplings have always been a staple dish for owner Philip Zhao.

“Dumplings are a very popular choice of food over there and since I was three or four-years-old I just loved them,” said Zhao.

“With just the movements of your fingers you can create something beautiful and delicious.”

Since opening up his restaurant on Collins Street 10 years ago, word about Zhao’s reputation for authentic Chinese cuisine has spread across town, giving him the chance to expand the business to a new store in Moonah where he serves up to 3500 dumplings a day to hungry foodies.

From cute-as-a-button twisted steamed pot stickers filled with hot soup to pan-fried dumplings packed with chicken and prawn, Pot Sticker Dumpling House’s impressively large menu is a delight for all, but there’s one dish that Zhao said is a must for each and every visit.

“Pan-fried pork dumpling are the most popular by far.”

“We have four different types of dumplings and the pork dumplings account for about 60% of total sales.”
