Lenah Valley RSL to host the 17th Annual Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour in July
Head to the Lenah Valley RSL this July to take a peek at the trophy for the race that stops a nation. The 18-karat-gold Melbourne Cup trophy will be on display for a short three-hour window.

HOBART will join racing history when it plays host to the 18-karat-gold Melbourne Cup in July.
After receiving a record number of applications, the Victoria Racing Club this week announced Lenah Valley RSL would join 39 destinations across the globe as part of the 17th annual Melbourne Cup Tour.
The Melbourne Cup will visit the sub branch on July 6 between 9am and midday.
Lenah Valley RSL president Ian Dobson said the tour would offer an ideal opportunity for the community to not only get up close and personal with the “people’s cup” but to visit the RSL clubrooms and inspect their facilities.

“We are very much a community-based club and I am hopeful that this visit will have the same success as our normal Anzac Day functions,” he said.
“I invite all interested members of the community to pay us a visit.”
This year the trophy will also travel to Alice Springs, Blackall in outback Queensland, Deniliquin in New South Wales and Bunyip in Victoria.
It will also visit New Zealand, England, China, Japan and Singapore.
“This year is especially significant, with 2019 marking the 100th anniversary of the three-handled Melbourne Cup trophy design,” VRC chairwoman Amanda Elliott said.
