A KINGSTON woman who bought a Tattslotto ticket as a spur-of-the-moment decision while out shopping is an instant millionaire after a winning division-one prize.
The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, today said she was in total shock to find out her ticket had netted her $1,666,666.67.
“I can’t believe it,” she said.
“I only play every now and then and usually grab a QuickPick. I only bought into this because I was right next to the shop.”
Her winning entry — one of 12 division-one winning entries across Australia — was bought at Channel Newsworld, Channel Court Shopping Centre, in Kingston.
“We don’t have internet at the moment and I hadn’t read the paper so I had no idea there was a winner in the area,” she said.
“I just came into the store to check my ticket.”
When asked how she would spend her winnings, she said she hadn’t yet got her head around the win.
“We need a new car and there are a few things around the house we need to fix up but after that, I really don’t know,” she said.
Channel Newsworld Lotto business owners Mike Ditcham and Diane Roberts said they were thrilled the winning entry had been claimed.
“Congratulations to our winner and we wish her good luck and hope she is able to realise all of her dreams,” they said.
“We hope our winner enjoys this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and makes the most of it.”
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3921 on Saturday, February 16, were 27, 18, 19, 38, 43 and 26, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 22.
