A MAJOR headliner has dropped out of a music festival hitting the state in September.
Hottest 100 favourites Spacey Jane have pulled out of the national Fresh Produce festival.
Brought to life by the creators of Groovin the Moo, the festival aims to give regional areas of the country a taste of the freshest talent.
Filling the sport left by the Perth indie-rock band on day one will be surf-rock duo Hockey Dad, joining the likes of G Flip and Cosmo’s Midnight.
Tickets are on sale now, with the festival taking place at the Hobart Showground on September 10 and 11.
EARLIER: Move over farm animals, because the Hobart Showground is set to showcase a very different kind of produce later this year.
Coming from the creators of major music festival Groovin the Moo, Fresh Produce is set to give regional areas across the country a sample of some of Australia’s freshest talent.
Hitting the stage at the Hobart Showgrounds in September will be a tasty mix of big Australian names and local acts on September 10 and 11.
Festival favourite G Flip is among the headliners, ready to bring her catchy indie-pop beats and latest hit Queen to audiences across the country.
After starting the year with a bang after taking out four spots in the highly coveted Hottest 100, including hitting number two with hit track Booster Seat, Spacey Jane will take to the stage on Friday.
Twins Cosmo and Patrick Liney — a.k.a Cosmo’s Midnight — recently released their sophomore album Yesteryear, with lead single C.U.D.I already certified gold and marking their debut entry into the Hottest 100.
Brisbane singer-songwriter Mallrat will also be back in Tassie for the festival, following a sold out show at the Goods Shed late last month.
Other headliners include ARIA award-winning pop rock group Lime Cordiale and Sydney hip-hop artist Hooligan Hefs.
Local acts are also set to take to the stage at each concert, with the likes of Maddy Jane, Slag Queens and Slaughterhaus Surf Cult hitting the stage in Glenorchy.
Cattleyard Promotions director Steve Halpin was excited for the new regional concert series to sprout up across the country during spring, following the cancellation of Groovin the Moo for 2021.
“Our team is very excited to be developing a new show that highlights the ripest pickings from multiple regions around the country,” he said.
“We can’t wait to feature all things fresh and support local communities in our familiar stomping grounds and our two new regional spots.”
The festival was partially funded by the federal government’s Restart the Investment to Sustain and Expand initiative, and was created to exist within the ever-changing COVID-19 environment.
Fresh Produce’s Glenorchy concert will take place on September 10 and 11 at the Hobart Showgrounds.
Tickets will go on sale 9am Feburary 18 via the official website.
