TASMANIA’S biggest private employer is on the hunt for 25 new staff as it gears up ahead of the upcoming return of interstate travellers.
With the Tasmanian border due to reopen to safe jurisdictions Queensland, South Australia, the NT and Western Australia on October 26, the Federal Group is preparing its tourism businesses in the hope of a successful summer season.
The team hosted two career information sessions at the Henry Jones Art Hotel on Tuesday afternoon, with about 30 people attending.
East Coast luxury lodge Saffire is recruiting 25 new staff including a guest services manager, food and beverage staff, housekeeping, tour guide and demi chef.
Currently only open weekends, the venue plans to open seven days a week by mid-November.
“Tourism in Tasmania is very seasonal at the best of times and coming out of COVID, this summer is more important than ever,” said general manager Ross Boobyer.
“Working at Saffire is a real coup for anyone interested in a career in the luxury tourism sector – it carries a lot of weight in the Australian tourism industry and the experience is recognised globally.”
