A teenager has been reported after allegedly driving nearly 200km/h on the Riddoch Highway while using his phone to record the speed.

The 17-year-old boy was pulled over by police conducting speed detection duties near Naracoorte about 6.30pm on Saturday.

They detected his Toyota sedan travelling at 198km/h in a signed 110km/h zone.

Police allege the driver was using his mobile phone at the time to record the speedometer and one of the two passengers was not wearing a seat belt.
