A man has tragically died in a horror workplace accident this week.

Emergency services responded to an incident involving a 58-year-old local man at Roxby Downs about 10am on Monday.

Police said the man died as a result of his injuries.

A report for the coroner is being prepared.

A SafeWork SA spokesman informed The Advertiser the incident involved “an elevating work platform” at the business.

“Inspectors have attended the site and inquiries are continuing,” the spokesman said.

The death comes after an Adelaide man, 56, died in work accident after falling ‘through the roof’ at West Hindmarsh, on Monday, June 23.

The man – who The Advertiser understands was an electrician – was working on the roof of a house when he fell through and sustained a serious head injury.

He was rushed to hospital but died despite the efforts of medical staff.

A man also died in a horror workplace accident at Koonunga, north of Nuriootpa last week.

Emergency services responded to calls of a “road crash rescue” event on June 20, at a worksite in the Barossa but the man died at the scene.

In May, a BHP worker has died after being found unresponsive at the Olympic Dam copper-gold mine.

A spokesperson for BHP told The Advertiser that the worker’s death was not considered work related, with the company sharing its sympathies to family and friends.
