Adelaide man, 56, dies in work accident after falling ‘through the roof’ at West Hindmarsh

The sad news comes after the 56-year-old from Flinders Park was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital on Monday.

A man died on Tuesday morning after falling through a roof in Adelaide’s west on Monday, with SafeWork launching an investigation into the tragic incident.

The incident occurred at West Hindmarsh around 2:38pm on Monday.

The man – who The Advertiser understands was an electrician – was working on the roof of a house when he fell through and sustained a serious head injury.

He was rushed to hospital but died despite the efforts of medical staff.

An SA Police spokesman said a report would be prepared for the Coroner.

“Police and emergency services were called to a property in Glanton Street after reports that a man working on the property had fallen through the roof,” he said.

“The 56-year-old Flinders Park man was taken to hospital but sadly died this morning.

“Police are working with SafeWork SA in relation to the matter.”
