Two pedestrians seriously injured in separate Adelaide crashes at Norwood, Brahma Lodge

Two people have been seriously injured in separate crashes on Tuesday night, with one man set to face court.

Two people have been rushed to hospital after they were struck by cars in two separate incidents on opposite ends of the city Tuesday evening.

A 78-year-old Adelaide woman was crossing the road on the Parade in Norwood just before 7pm when she was struck by a Toyota SUV.

She was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The 25-year-old Toyota driver was arrested and charged with cause harm by dangerous driving.

The Wayville man was bailed to appear at Adelaide Magistrates Court in February.

Hours later, just after 9.30pm, police responded to a crash at the intersection of Main North Rd and Park Tce at Brahma Lodge where a pedestrian was hit by a Mazda sedan.

The 40-year-old Davoren Park man was seriously injured in the crash and was rushed to hospital.

The driver – a 17-year-old boy from Golden Grove – was not injured and is assisting police with the investigation.

Main North Rd was closed for northbound traffic from Frost Rd while police investigated the crash but has since reopened.
