Four members of the Descendants Motorcycle Club have left court with eased bail conditions after being charged with criminal association.
Maurizio Ierace, Matthew Aaron Pepper, Jordan Alex Mackie and Dylan Thomas Mackie all appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrate Court on Thursday before Magistrate Todd Grant, who relaxed their current bail conditions – removing the condition that prohibited them from going within 100 metres of each other or other outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Mr Grant also granted permission for Mr Mackie, 32, from Burton, to travel interstate for work purposes.
“He goes every second week interstate between Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria currently,” Mr Mackie’s defence counsel said.
“Perhaps you can put a condition in place that says he’s allowed to travel interstate perhaps giving 24 hours notice to prosecution and to advise them of where he’s going and when he returns.”
Mr Mackie, from Burton, alongside Mr Ierace, 51, from Seaton, Mr Pepper, 39, from Brahma Lodge, and Mr Dylan Mackie, 29, from Virginia are alleged to have been together on Saturday, October 7, while travelling to Cherry Gardens for an event held by another outlaw motorcycle gang.
Police allege the gang is one of the ten declared criminal organisations (DCO) and it is an offence for participants of a DCO to be in a public place with two or more other people who are also participants in a DCO.
They will next appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court late next month.
It comes just days after 10 alleged Hells Angels bikies faced court with similar charges over a run from Cherry Gardens to the metro area on January 2.
Fifteen men were charged and first appeared in April, while 10 appeared again earlier this week to seek – and were given – permission to go to a wedding and a funeral.
