A successful businessman who worked for companies including CIBO Espresso and Jurlique has been released on home detention bail a week after he was charged over the indecent assault of at least 12 women.

Solomon Farah, 67, appeared in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on Wednesday where he was released on home detention bail following his arrest last week.

Police allege Mr Farah lured 12 women into his Currie St business, Skin Fit Co, where he indecently assaulted them by massaging lotion on various parts of their bodies.

A police prosecutor previously told a court the man could have up to 78 victims following a search of his phone.

The court also heard the former chief financial officer was originally arrested on February 7 following the assault of one woman during a trial shift.

“He rubbed lotion on her and felt up her breasts under her shirt and made comments about her breasts being bouncy with lotion,” the prosecutor said.

Andrew Ey, for Mr Farah, asked for his client to be released on home detention bail with consideration of his “exemplary character”.

“In 1999 he started working as the CFO of Jurlique, he was also the CFS of CIBO and Italian coffee shops more recently,” he said.

“He’s now semi-retired, set-up the Skin Fit Co and the defence case is that all contact with the various complainants was all consensual.

“He’s extremely hard working and a man of exemplary character.”

Mr Farah was a partner and chief executive at CIBO Espresso for six years before leaving the company around 2011 and pursuing other career paths including joining the team at Cotto Espresso and starting his marketing company Aspire Co.

He has an accountancy background and was also the chief financial officer at Jurlique for five years.

Mr Farah was arrested at 8pm on Wednesday over the alleged offences dated between January 5, 2023 and February 2, 2024.

A search of his home revealed he was also allegedly in possession of a silencer and a bullet.

Mr Farah will next appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in August.
