Two in custody over suspected murder of Jarrod Leigh Turner

A 14-year-old girl is among two people who have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of an Eastern Shore man.

UPDATE: A 14-YEAR-OLD girl is among two people who have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of an Eastern Shore man.

Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter from Bellerive CIB said the teenager and a 29-year-old Moonah man were in custody following the death of Jarrod Leigh Turner, 22, of Gagebrook.

He said no charges had been laid yet and the pair was assisting police with their inquiries.

“While we are currently speaking with two people, we believe that there are other people in the community who know what happened to Jarrod and we encourage them to come forward and speak with police at the earliest opportunity,” Detective Inspector Rossiter said.

Police received reports of a man’s body having been found shortly before 6am on Sunday by Colebrook Rd about 2km north of Richmond.

Police later confirmed man had been shot in the head.

It is not yet known why he was in the area or what sparked his killing.

Mr Turner’s death was initially treated as a pedestrian accident, but was later categorised as suspicious.
