POLICE have released a fresh warning to drivers doing the wrong thing after a speedster was caught twice in three days.

The 22-year-old Taroona man received an official caution notice for speeding on the Huon Highway at Leslie Vale on Monday.

He was then detected doing 107km/h in a 50km/h speed zone on the Channel Highway at Taroona on Wednesday.

His car was clamped for 28 days and he was fined $600 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.

He was also given a $937.25 speeding fine, lost six demerit points and had his licence disqualified for four months.

Acting Sergeant Sandra Paul, of Southern Road and Public Order Services, said the incident was not only disappointing but extremely dangerous for other road users.

“This driver has put not only himself but every other person using the road at that time in danger,” Sgt Paul said.

“I would like to take this opportunity to remind the public that Tasmania Police could be anywhere at any time and in any vehicle, so if you’re doing the wrong thing you will get caught.”
