A 30-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the shooting murder of Gagebrook man Jarrod Leigh Turner.

A 30-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to the shooting murder of Gagebrook man Jarrod Leigh Turner.

Shannon James Duffy appeared before Magistrate Sam Mollard in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.

He pleaded not guilty to murder and did not apply for bail.

Magistrate Mollard remanded Duffy in custody to appear in the Supreme Court on July 22.

He was charged by police on Sunday night after being arrested in Fingal two days earlier.

Mr Turner’s body was discovered by a member of the public on the side of Colebrook Rd, about 2km north of Richmond, shortly before 6am on April 14.

Police later confirmed the 22-year-old Gagebrook man had been shot in the head.

Also in court this morning was Jemma Rumley-Cantrell, 22, who was charged with failing to report a killing and being an accessory after the fact to murder over Mr Turner’s death.

She too was arrested by police at Fingal on Friday.

Ms Rumley-Cantrell was granted conditional bail to reappear in the Magistrates Court on May 21.

A 14-year-old girl allegedly linked to the killing was charged with one count of being an accessory after the fact to murder on Thursday. She did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.

Police investigations into Mr Turner’s death are continuing.
