A FORMER Hobart man facing a string of drug trafficking and firearms charges has appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court.
Mitchell John Campbell, 30, is accused of trafficking cocaine and MDMA in Hobart between March 14 and May 8 this year. He appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Michael Daly on Thursday.
Mr Campbell — now of Noosaville in Queensland — is also facing further charges that were laid after police searched a Tranmere address on March 17.
The charges include possessing ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis, a stolen six-chamber revolver, an unregistered seven-chamber revolver and gun ammunition without a firearms licence.
Defence lawyer Andrei Slicer said Mr Campbell would plead not guilty to all charges.
In court, the 30-year-old was wearing a plain black T-shirt and black jeans.
He acknowledged his father, who was sitting in the back of the courtroom, during the hearing.
Mr Campbell applied for bail but was refused.
Mr Daly remanded him in custody to appear in the Supreme Court on September 3.
