A MAN charged with trafficking drugs in his underpants through Hobart Airport has made a brief court appearance, with his lawyer indicating a willingness to plea.
Sniffer dogs bailed up Joseph Roy Wallner, 22, on July 1 after he disembarked a flight from Sydney and police say a subsequent search found the illegal drug ice hidden in his underwear.
The quantity of drug was allegedly worth $280,000 and Wallner was charged with trafficking and two counts of travelling under a false name.
“He’s due to plea,” a lawyer told the Hobart Magistrates Court after requesting a one-week adjournment.
Wallner, who is in custody, faced court by video link but will face a magistrate on August 3 to enter pleas.
