A BRIDGEWATER man has been arrested after attempting to deliver eight tonnes of animal manure to state politicians by dumping it on the steps of the Executive Building in Hobart.

Disability pensioner Scott Moore, 51, has been charged with failing to comply with a police direction and resisting arrest.

Mr Moore was intercepted by police outside the Murray Street building — where the Premier and Government ministers have their offices — shortly after 5am this morning and says he was “dragged out” out of his truck.

He says he will plead not guilty to the charges.

Mr Moore says he is involved in a long-running dispute with Centrelink which has seen him banned from every one of their offices in the nation over allegations he says are untrue.

He says he has been trying to set up as a sole trader to get off government benefits but has not received help.

“No one wants to employ me now, I just want to be self-employed but no one wants to help,” he said.

And Mr Moore said he was also unhappy with the State Government’s handling of the health system.

“I am a passionate man about this state and the people in it,” he said.

“This is for the nurses who have looked after me and did the double shifts for the last three years, this is for the ambos.

“They can’t keep up with the staff when I was in the hospital, how are they going to keep up with the new hospital?

“I just want to be heard — Australia is going down the gurgler. I’ve just had enough.

“There’s a lot of struggling families out there and a lot of people who are going through what I’m going through.”

Mr Moore has been bailed to appear in Hobart Magistrates Court in October.
