SUSPENDED Glenorchy City Council alderman Jenny Branch-Allen has withdrawn her latest Supreme Court action against the Board of Inquiry into the council.
As lawyers for Glenorchy general manager Peter Brooks — who is on indefinite leave — succeeded in getting Chief Justice Alan Blow to rule against the decision made by Associate Justice Stephen Holt and issue a non-publication order for Mr Brooks’ claims against the Board, Ms Branch-Allen told the Mercury that she had withdrawn her action through a consent order.
“I received a letter from the Solicitor-General’s office with a request to withdraw my action and after a long think about it I decided to do so,” Ms Branch-Allen said.
The decision by Ms Branch-Allen came as Local Government Minister Peter Gutwein announced he would re-suspend the aldermen for another six months when their existing ban ends.

Ms Branch-Allen said the decision would allow time for other issues surrounding the Board of Inquiry to be finalised.
“I want this sorted,” Ms Branch-Allen said.
“I want it to be just, I want it to be fair.”
