Two of Alice Springs’ best talents swept the field at the annual Alice Springs Cricket Association Presentation Evening.
West Cricket Club’s Samindra Madushan took out the Jarrod Wapper medal as the best A-grade men’s player of the year while Federal’s Emily McBride was awarded the Braszell Medal as the best player in the women’s competition.
Top of A-grade’s batting average, total runs and bowling economy, Madushan was also awarded the with the competition’s top honours as the ASCA’s Senior Cricketer of the Year.
Much like Madushan, McBride dominated the women’s competition all year, finishing with the best batting average and the most total runs, and was rightfully recognised as the Jenny Kroker Women’s Cricket of the Year.
But the Federal players’ accolades didn’t stop there, with her efforts off the field just as impressive, seeing her receive both the ASCA Volunteer of the Year and the Women’s Volunteer of the Year.
