One of Australia’s sporting holy grails has ignited grand final fever at a Red Centre primary school, exciting the footy-mad students.
Ahead of the 2024 AFL grand final, the premiership cup went on a tour of the Red Centre – landing at Sadadeen Primary School at the conclusion of their Wednesday footy club session in early September.
Sadadeen Primary School acting-principal Pippa North said she led a footy-mad – which was not a bad thing, as the game taught them important skills.
“The students love their AFL club, it gives them a chance to get out on the oval, kick the footy around and learn the value of being part of a team,” she said.
The AFL premiership cup toured the Territory early September before heading to Queensland, then NSW, before finally arriving at the MCG ahead of the clash between Sydney and Brisbane.
