Cup comes up: 2024 AFL premiership cup coming to Alice Springs, Katherine, and Darwin

The 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup Tour will bring the competition's biggest prize in the Northern Territory in September, 2024.

Six days in September are set to be extra special for Territory footy fans, as a country-wide tour brings the AFL’s biggest prize to the NT ahead of 2024’s ultimate footy showdown.

The AFL premiership cup is on a grand tour of the country, and is set to visit the top and bottom of the NT ahead of the 2024 AFL grand final.

Coming from WA, the cup’s first stop is Alice Springs from September 6 to 8 – where it will make a special appearance at the CAFL grand final on September 7.

After visiting the Red Centre capital, the cup will then head to the Top End, visiting Darwin September 9.

The cup’s Territory tour will then finish in Katherine, where it will be from September 10 to 11, before making its way to Queensland.

Throughout the tour, the cup will visit local schools, footy clubs, iconic Territory destinations, and Territory Toyota dealerships.

AFL executive general manager of game development Rob Auld said the premiership cup tour continued to grow every year, becoming “a much-loved initiative by fans of all ages”.

“I’m looking forward to seeing thousands of fans come along to soak up the excitement and be inspired to get involved in our great game,” he said.

The three-week tour for the cup will end at the AFL Grand Final on Saturday, September 28.
