A black and white tsunami descended on Palmerston Magpies’ clubhouse for the chance to get their hands of Australia’s most coveted trophy.

On the 14th day of its national tour – visiting fellow magpies – the Collingwood Magpies 2023 AFL premiership cup visited the AFLNT’s Palmy Magpies, providing Collingwood faithful a chance to revel in the joy of a premiership cup.

“With the Collingwood Football Club winning the premiership this year and having the premiership cup has provided us (Collingwood) with a great opportunity to bring it out on a national tour which is great,” former Magpie and 225-gamer Leon Davis said.

“We can get it out to the fans and out in community, spreading the enjoyment of winning a flag to people that don’t have the opportunity to go to the footy (AFL) every week.

“I’ve seen that it brings a lot of joy to our fans and as you know, Collingwood supporters come out of the woodwork wherever you go, plenty of them have shown up and it’s been so great to give back.

“I was offered the opportunity to come up here (to Darwin) and I pounced on it as I know how much and how big footy is in the community here.”

The tour will now head over to Queensland before heading south to NSW and Tasmania.
