Business is booming in the Rose City with another commercial development set to shake up the retail landscape right in the CBD.
After the Warwick Home & Life precinct, which sold in April for $11,800,000, brought five new businesses to the region, a new precinct in the same model is expected to do the same.
Home & Life boasts a Petbarn, Anytime Fitness, Cafe 63, BCF and most recently, a new doctors clinic.
Anticipation has been building for what will fill the next Colliers project- Home & Co- occupying the former Bunnings building on Palmerin St.
This publication can reveal, five new tenants will likely be joining the Warwick retail space as soon as the end of the year across two phases of construction.
Automotive company Repco and Choice the Discount Store will be joining the former Bunnings building at 26 Palmerin St.
Repco is already an established brand in Warwick, and is anticipated to move from its Grafton St location.
Construction has already begun on stage one of the project, which will repurpose the old Bunnings store into a 2500 sqm retail location, split in two between the two tenants, Repco and Choice.
It is understood developers hope the hand over will take place by the end of the year.
Stage two of the project will see a new build on the site, with access from Albion St and will be adjacent to the repurposed Bunnings building, and will feature three showroom tenants, yet to be announced.
It is understood none of the three tenants have been confirmed with Colliers at this stage. Stage two will commence construction in the first quarter of 2025.
Colliers head of retail leasing Queensland Will Goldsworth said the growing Darling Downs region needs to continue accommodating the growth.
Curious residents have taken to social media to theorise which businesses will make their debut in Warwick.
“Need JB HIFI,” Heidi Perriotte said, while Allen Sims wrote that Spotlight “would be good.”
“Something for our youth would be great, like a trampoline park or laser tag something to get them off the streets and enjoying their childhood again,” Felicity Novley commented.
Repco Warwick was approached for comment but could not confirm any plans for their new site.
