A Sunshine Coast couple has returned to the site of their first date to celebrate their wedding with a unique photoshoot.
Jessica Coombs, 28, is a tattoo artist and Brandon Mogler, 33, is a delivery driver who met each other at a mutual friend’s birthday party.
Their wedding was on Saturday and for their photoshoot, they went back to the place of their first date, the Minyama McDonald’s.
Mr Mogler said they went into the fast food joint unannounced but the team and other customers were so obliging and excited for them.
“It was the best and so much fun,” Ms Coombs said.
While the photoshoot was held at Maccas, the wedding was at the Lakehouse in Brightwater.
Ms Coombs said the wedding was amazing and everything she could have dreamed of.
Frankie Hall was the photographer for the couple and came up with the idea for the unique location.
Ms Hall said it was one of the most unique wedding shoots she has done.
“Prior to their wedding day, I hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting Jessie and Brandon, nor was there any mention of a non-traditional approach,” she said.
“I was delighted when I arrived at Jessie’s preparation venue to discover a stunning black wedding dress paired with Doc Martens as her wedding shoes.”
Ms Hall said she opted for a not-so-traditional wedding dress as it was just what she always wanted since she was 15.
“I love Morticia Addams and thought I channelled her vibe on the day,” she said.
It was clear to Ms Hall that this celebration would break away from conventional norms, and she was thrilled to embrace their unique style.
She suggested the idea of capturing their portraits in an industrial setting or even a fast-food restaurant like McDonald’s.
“Jessie’s face lit up as she revealed that McDonald’s was the location of their very first date — making it a perfectly meaningful choice for their photos,” Ms Hall said.
She also said the team and patrons were very obliging.
“Jessie and Brandon are great fun and were happy to go with the flow,” she said
“It was a bonus that we all got to enjoy some Macca’s nuggets though.”
