Police attend head-on crash on Mapleton Rd, Burnside, Sunshine Coast

Police investigators will attend a traffic crash on a busy suburban street that has caused significant peak-hour traffic delays.

Police investigators have been called to a traffic crash causing significant delays on a busy Sunshine Coast suburban road.

Emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle crash about 4.30pm today, April 4, on Mapleton Rd in Burnside.

Paramedics have taken one woman with neck pain and minor burns to her arms to the Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the forensic crash unit would attend and an early investigation indicated it was a head-on collision.

A southbound lane was closed and traffic delays were expected in the area.
