Motorcyclist dies after colliding with SUV towing a boat

A young man has died after the motorbike he was riding collided with a vehicle towing a boat on the Sunshine Coast.

A young man has died after the motorbike he was riding collided with a SUV towing a boat on the Sunshine Coast overnight.

Emergency services were called to Albany Street near Claymore Road, at Sippy Downs, around 12.10am Sunday following reports of a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 motorbike collided with a Kia Sportage towing a boat.

The motorbike rider, a 23-year-old Palmview man, was initially treated for serious head and chest injuries but was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Kia, a 54-year-old Sippy Downs man, was not physically hurt.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
