Would you pay $250 for a bath?
That’s the price one of Queensland’s most luxurious getaways is charging.
Spicers Clovelly Estate at Montville in the Sunshine Coast hinterland has introduced a “Bath Butler” experience, where loved-up couples can enjoy a romantic soak for a cost as extravagant as the affair itself.
Prepared by the retreat’s spa team, the package includes a bath in one of their special suites with mood lighting, a bottle of Louis Roederer champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, petit fours and full turn-down service.
Spicers Clovelly general manager Jack Fisher said the soapy escapade was proving a hit, with eight couples having already booked in.
“It’s not just a night away, it’s an experience,” he said.
“Our guests are usually here for a romantic getaway, so this just seemed like an enhancement on what we offer.”
And if the tub adventure goes well, guests can look to add on one of the estate’s personalised proposal packages starting from $500, where the staff put together a magical “pop the question” affair almost guaranteed to deliver a “yes”.
“I think it’s a real point of difference,” Mr Fisher said.
