Fallen trees are endangering homes and motorists

The true impact of Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred continues to be revealed, with stunning photos emerging of the destruction left behind to the southeast.

While southeast Queensland may have “dodged a bullet” with the weakened system, the threat of flooding remains.

However even the downgraded cyclone was enough to leave a trail of destruction behind.

The SES was called to assist with removal of a giant tree that fell across a Springwood resident’s driveway on Dennis Road.

Two wheelie bins and part of their front gates were crushed.

Energex and insurance assessor cars were both in the area Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile several traffic lights were out in Loganholme at 4pm on Saturday, with debris across most residential roads throughout the Logan area.

The Daisy Hill Koala Park was gated shut, with a red and while sign that says “Danger - Area closed to the public” on the gate.

There was also an increasing amount of water over many roads. Council workers have erected some signs advising motorists to avoid roads known to flood, such as Clarks Road in Loganholme.
