Child rushed to hospital after being hit by car at Heathwood

A child has been rushed to hospital with head and abdominal injuries after being hit by a car in south of Brisbane this morning.

A child has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in south of Brisbane this morning.

Emergency services were called to Kent St and Wadeville St at Heathwood about 7.35am and treated the boy for head, hip and abdominal injuries.

The boy was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

Local resident Fatima Yilmaz, 41, said she saw the ambulance arrive while taking the kids to school.

She described the intersection as “dangerous” and full of frequent near misses.

Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the child was aged under 16.
