Hobart City Council’s incoming CEO Kelly Grigsby is excited for a bright future

The incoming Hobart City Council CEO sees the role as a “tremendous opportunity” to inspire confidence in the state’s capital post-COVID.

HOBART’S future is bright, says the council’s incoming CEO.

With Hobart City Council chief Nick Heath stepping down from his position in April, experienced local government executive and current Wyndham City Council CEO Kelly Grigsby is set to take the top job in May.

She said she was excited to move to Hobart and settle into the community in coming weeks.

“The opportunity to work with the Lord Mayor, elected members and staff to continue to inspire confidence in the capital post-COVID is a tremendous opportunity,” she said.

“The future is bright for Hobart and the surrounds and in coming months and years my focus will be on ensuring the council improves the lives of our residents and seeks to grow economic opportunities for businesses and residents.

“I’ve loved my time at Wyndham and leave the community in a strong position to evolve into a prosperous and resilient community.”

Mr Heath welcomed Ms Grigsby’s appointment.

Deputy general manager Tim Short will act as CEO from Mr Heath’s departure until Ms Grigsby commences on May 10.
