Police warn woman over dope in Wrest Point quarantine hotel

A 25-year-old woman in COVID-19 quarantine has been busted by police after allegedly smoking cannabis from her quaratine hotel room.

A WOMAN in mandatory COVID-19 quarantine has copped a slap on the wrist after allegedly smoking dope in her Wrest Point Casino hotel room.

Tasmania Police confirmed they were called to the hotel about 1.20pm on Friday following a complaint from staff.

Officers searched the room of a 25-year-old Victorian woman, allegedly finding a small amount of cannabis.

The woman will not be required to leave quarantine and face court, with police deciding to warn her a drug caution notice instead.
