Highway patrol car on train tracks in Western Sydney

Police officers suffered minor injuries when a highway patrol car left the road and crash onto railway tracks in Western Sydney on Saturday afternoon.

Police officers suffered minor injuries when a highway patrol car left the road and crash onto railway tracks in Western Sydney on Saturday afternoon.

Police said about 4.40pm the officers had attempted to stop a motorcyclist when their patrol car crashed onto the tracks near Mount Druitt Railway Station.

Social media pictures of the car blocking the tracks between Mount Druitt and Rooty Hill stations quickly spread on social media.

Emergency service attended to provide medical help to the officers and remove the car from the train tracks.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.
