Tiger Shark found washed up on Central Coast beach

A huge Tiger shark was found washed up on a Central Coast beach, leaving revellers shocked.

Beachgoers on the Central Coast were treated to an unusual sight in the lead-up to Christmas, with a large Tiger shark washed up on the sand.

Tiger sharks are normally found in tropical waters but are known to venture as far south as southern NSW.

This particular shark was several metres long and stood out to the beachgoers who were shocked to find it on its side on the shoreline.

Two men were pictured approaching the shark with a blue tarp as families played nearby.

This specific breed of shark is known as the second most dangerous species to humans after the ocean’s most-feared predator, the great white.

The Tiger shark is considered to be near threatened in its conservation status.
