February 24, 5pm: An American woman has been robbed while in hospital in the Red Centre, but police say they’ve caught the woman alleged to have committed the theft.
Alice Springs police said the woman was robbed on Friday while she was in hospital in Alice Springs.
Her passport, bank cards, and purse were stolen, they allege.
An investigation into credit card transactions and CCTV led police to arrest a 30-year-old woman in relation to the theft.
The woman was found at a licensed premises on Barrett Drive in Alice Springs.
She has been charged with obtaining property by deception, theft, and unlawfully possessing property.
Police said the woman will front the judge in the Alice Springs Local Court on Tuesday.
NTG cars’ windows smashed, bumper removed
February 24, 3.30pm: A Northern Territory Government car has had its bumper stolen, while others have had their windows smashed while parked in Alice Springs.
NT Police said the vehicle damage happened at a government building on Bath St on Friday about 11pm.
A total of five cars had their windows smashed.
The rear bumper was also removed from one of the vehicles, according to police.
Police said investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to get in touch on 131 444.
Police have asked reference number P25051628 be quoted in relation.
