Missing man Thomas Courto’s bone found seven months after boating tragedy near Table Cape

Tasmania Police has confirmed a diver has found a bone belonging to missing man Thomas Courto has been found, seven months after a boating tragedy in the North West.
Courto and his two friends, Bree-Anna Thomas and Isaiah Dixon, set out on a trip from Table Cape at Wynyard on October 17 and never returned.
The bodies of both Thomas and Dixon washed ashore several days later, however there had been no sign of Courto until now.
“Sadly police can confirm a bone was located by a diver in the Table Cape area on 21 April, and subsequent DNA testing has confirmed it belongs to missing Wynyard man Thomas Courto,” said a spokesperson from Tasmania Police.
“Following the discovery of the bone by a recreational diver; police divers thoroughly searched the area for three days, but sadly no further trace of Thomas was located,”
“Our thoughts and condolences are with Thomas’ family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
