The Snitch: Ryan ‘eyebrows’ Watsford gets separate sentencing in drug importation case

First he lost his eyebrows, now The Snitch is wondering if Ryan Watsford has lost the support of his co-conspirators — including Michael Ibrahim and Western Sydney drug lord Mostafa Dib — who will be sentenced separately in a drug importation case.

First he lost his eyebrows, now Snitch is wondering if Ryan Watsford has also lost the support of his co-conspirators in his drug importation case.

Watsford, who this week featured in a video where King of the Cross John Ibrahim ripped one of his eyebrows off with a wax strip, will be sentenced separately from his six accomplices who have also pleaded guilty.

This includes John’s younger brother Michael Ibrahim, Western Sydney drug lord Mostafa Dib
and others.

John Ibrahim has not been charged and there is no suggestion he has engaged in criminal behaviour.

The cases of all seven were mentioned in the Sydney District Court on Thursday, where Judge Dina Yehia was told that Watsford would be sentenced on a different date because it was difficult for all seven parties to be in the dock at the same time.

Given the events leading up to their arrests, Snitch wonders if it is a space issue, or if there is a security issue of putting Watsford next to the people he led into the arms of an undercover cop.

The syndicate was taken down by the work of an undercover cop who befriended Watsford — a former Cranbrook student who lived in Rose Bay — in 2016, and used him to infiltrate the group. The cop then became friends with Michael and was also introduced to Dib and others. Months later he had them on the hook for a massive smuggling operation.

Snitch has been told that Dib, who is a powerful figure in the Western Sydney criminal milieu, is furious about being put in the undercover’s crosshairs.

“He’s a very powerful Western Sydney guy and they are already suspicious and stand-offish with the eastern suburbs types like Watsford,” one source said.

“So for it to go like it did, there is some serious ill-feeling.”

COP’S ‘REPLY ALL’ FAIL

There’s no shame quite like hitting “reply all” on an email and accidentally sending an embarrassing message to your bosses and colleagues. It’s worse when it says “hey sexy”.

Unfortunately for a red-faced NSW Police senior officer, he did just that and one of the accidental recipients of the email was NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller.

We’ve been told the officer was attempting to send an unrelated text message to an unrelated party circa 3am.

The message read: “Hey sexy”. But instead of sending the text to the intended recipient, he sent it as a “reply all” email to the entire police executive team.

It appears the email was forwarded to senior officers, which included Commissioner Fuller. “He tried to recall it but it was too late — it had already been opened by a few on the distribution list,” a source said.

A NSW Police spokesman sent an email (just to us), which said that “the officer in question has been counselled about the appropriate use of NSW Police Force devices and IT systems.”

TOAST OF THE TOWN

Level three of the Downing Centre District Court was evacuated on Thursday, with all and sundry forced to drop their gavels, wigs and the rest of it to flee to the safety of Liverpool St. As sirens blared, a team of firefighters entered the building armed with all manner of tools, including what appeared to be a giant set of tongs.

Thankfully it was a false alarm. The alarm was set off by someone who cooked a piece of toast for too long.

The firefighters appeared to emerge from a corridor that leads to the judges’ chambers, but it could have just been a staffer.
