Nothing is too hard for the team behind Boss Burger Co.

The small family business, who are originally from regional Victoria, have recently opened the doors of their new restaurant at North Hobart.

Co-owner Sorcha Evans said she and the crew have been “absolutely humbled” by the response from customers.

“ … It’s the only way I can describe that we’ve been so lucky with the turnout and incredible support,” Ms Evans said.

The new restaurant is the second Boss Burger eatery in Tasmania, after the business opened their Kingston restaurant two years ago.

On the mainland, they also have restaurants in Warrnambool, Geelong and Ballarat.

“We had some staff members who’ve been with us in Geelong, who were hoping to make the move down to Tassie and everyone got on board – and we thought it was a great place to come down to because a lot of us holiday here as well,” she said.

“Tassie has a very similar vibe and value that we love in Victoria.

“We sort of tend to stay out of the major cities and we’re clinging to the places that are more family-orientated and homey.”

The team will bring more than just burgers to North Hobart, with an inclusive menu that will be sure to delight, Ms Evans said.

“We have an awesome gluten free menu. We have a great vegan option as well. We do ribs and hot dogs and milkshakes, and we make everything from scratch,” she said.

“I know exactly what is in the sauce, I know what is in the buns and the patties – because everything is made fresh on site with local produce.

“We make sure that wherever we go that we always find a local veggie supplier and we support meat companies locally.”

Boss Burger Co at 319 Elizabeth St, North Hobart, is open Wednesday to Sunday.
