Teenager hospitalised with suspected spinal injuries in alleged Pimpama hit and run

A teenager has been taken to hospital after they were knocked from their e-scooter on the Gold Coast in an alleged hit and run.

Police are investigating an alleged hit and run on the Gold Coast which has left a teenager in hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

The boy was knocked from his e-scooter on Riffle Range Rd near The Heights Boulevard, Pimpama shortly before 7am on Tuesday.

A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said a Mazda vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit attended the incident and investigations are underway to track down the vehicle and driver allegedly involved.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the e-scooter rider, aged in his late teens, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with neck pain and suspected spinal injuries.

He was reported as in a stable condition.

Minor delays were still affecting Riffle Range Rd in both directions about 8am on Monday and police remained on scene.
