The pilates Class

A GOLD Coast pilates teacher crowned the best in the city says it is due to their attention to technique.

Main Beach Organic pilates owner Natalie Dickson has been voted best pilates instructor by Bulletin online readers.

She said after three years as an instructor she opened her own studio in 2015.

“The industry has changed so much over the past six years,” she said.

“I’m happy because I get to wake up every day and do what I love.”

Her studio offered one-on-one reformer pilates classes as well as group sessions, she said.

“Our core values are to build strength and movement for life.”

She said she hoped people would stop bundling yoga and pilates together.

“I love yoga but they are two totally different things,” she said. “I understand they do have the similarity of the mind and body connection although pilates is slightly more scientific.

“A lot of the teachings that I have leant is from physio backgrounds,” Ms Dickson said.

She said she believed she was chosen as number one because of their attention to technique.

“We have small classes so we can focus on people individually,” she said.
