Motorists are being warned of delays as police close a major Gold Coast road following a four-car crash.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Tamborine Oxenford Rd in Oxenford around 6am on Friday.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a man in his 20s had suffered a medical episode.
Paramedics on scene assessed the man and another man who had neck and shoulder pain and took them both to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Two other people were also treated with minor injuries.
A Gold Coast police spokeswoman said there was initial reports of people trapped in their car but they have since been freed.
Police have closed Tamborine Oxenford Rd between Michigan Drive and Maudsland Rd.
“Avoid the area,” the spokeswoman said.
They expected the road to be closed for at least an hour.
Meanwhile, emergency services were called to another crash on the M1 in Arundel around 6am.
At 7am, paramedics were still assessing two men after a two-car crash on the Smith St off-ramp.
The crash was causing traffic mayhem on the M1, as the gridlock stretched from Arundel to Pimpama southbound.
