Commuters have experienced lengthy delays on the Geelong Ring Road after two vehicles collided on Wednesday morning.

It is believed a black SUV and a white ute collided near the Ballarat Rd exit in Hamlyn Heights about 8.45am.

Paramedics said a woman in her 40s was taken to Geelong hospital with upper and lower body injuries while a girl was also taken to hospital with upper body pain.

Traffic crawled through the area with two northbound lanes closed.

The front of the SUV was crushed due to the force of the collision.

It comes after commuters faced delays of up to 40 minutes after two vehicles collided on Latrobe Terrace, near Myers St, on Tuesday about 5pm.

No one was seriously injured in the crash but two northbound lanes were closed during peak hour traffic.
