Paramedics will remain at the scene of a fire in Whittington due to health concerns following a blaze that ignited inside a shed.

Emergency services were called to a home on Coppards Rd shortly after 4.20pm with multiple Fire Rescue Victoria crews tackling the structure.

Firefighters donned breathing equipment before conducting an external attack on the fire.

“Firefighters knocked down the fire and checked for fire extension,” an FRV spokesman said.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria remain at the scene.

An AV spokeswoman said paramedics would remain there for “health monitoring”.

It’s still unclear how the started.

It’s understood police are not treating it as suspicious.

More to come.
