The latest plans for a $4.5m healthcare hub have been revealed.

Applications for the medical centre at 21-29 Princes Hwy, Norlane was first submitted in 2020, but recently amended to include plans for additional parking, play areas and a cafe.

Sitting next to Bunnings Hardware store, the complex would also feature a daycare centre, two-storey medical facility with plans for a day surgery and dental surgery.

“The gym is to be replaced with the small cafe,” an amended application said.

“The final outcome will be an improved development, one that has improved carparking, improved landscaping, simple signage befitting the scale of the development and less impact on the abutting neighbours as a result in the change in use from gym to cafe and the increased buffers provided by the landscaping.”

It’s expected the two-storey clinic would be operated by a clinic relocating from Sparks Rd, Norlane and would be open daily.

“What we have there is a medical centre available and a cafe available but already committed to that site is a dental surgery, a day surgery and a childcare centre,” Gartland Property Geelong agent Michael De Stefano told News Corp in 2021.

“It would create a real medical hub that’s really required in the northern suburbs of Geelong. “We know the north has been left out.

“It will create an allied health precinct there that would go extremely well.”
