18th Amendment Geelong wins best regional bar award

A speak-easy inspired venue in central Geelong has been named the best regional bar in Australia for the third time.

The 18th Amendment Bar, which opened in Geelong in 2017, also won the regional bar of the year award in 2018 and 2019.

The achievement was celebrated at the Bartender Magazine Australian Bar Awards on Wednesday night.

The venue wasalso nominated for cocktail list of the year, best host (Miranda Williams),and rookie of the year (Ana Mitchell).

The Little Malop St venue’s elaborate cocktail list includes creations like the “Bonnie and Clyde”, while also offering alcohol-free options like the “Swanky Spritz”.

Owner Gorge Camorra said to become the first bar to secure the award three times was a monumental achievement.

“We are immensely proud of our team’s dedication and the deep connection we share with our community,” Mr Camorra said.

“This award not only recognises our hard work but also shines a spotlight on Geelong as a vibrant hub for tourism.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people of Geelong for their unwavering support.”

Camorra Bar Group was nominated for operator of the year at the awards.
