Full Anzac Day 2025 guide for events in the Northern Territory

From Darwin, to Adelaide River, Katherine and Alice Springs – there’ll be plenty of events for Territorians to commemorate Anzac Day 2025. See the list.

Veterans past and present will be honoured once more by Territorians this Anzac Day.

From Darwin, Katherine, and Alice Springs, to everywhere else in-between — there’ll be plenty of events for Territorians to commemorate Anzac Day 2025.

Darwin

6am, Dawn Service – Darwin Cenotaph

It will another sentimental and touching Anzac Day ceremony in the Darwin CBD, with a catafalque party followed by the Ode of Remembrance to touching reflections from previous speakers and the Last Post.

As always, parking will be scant, so make sure to car pool as necessary to make it to the ceremony.

9.00am, Anzac Day March – Esplanade end of Knuckey St

Soldiers, sailors, aviators and veterans across the Top End will feature in the traditional march along Knuckey St, offering Territorians a glimpse at Australia’s troops past and present.

Palmerston

6am, Dawn Service – Memorial Park

Locals will descend on the town centre along University Ave.

6:45am, Gunfire breakfast – Cazalys Palmerston

For those wishing to breakfast after the Dawn Service, an early morning drink and a bite to eat will be available from Cazalys Palmerston.

9am, Anzac March

Viewers will get a glimpse of the Top End’s warfighters marching in unison with members of the Army band in tow, as seen in Darwin.

Adelaide River

5:30am, Dawn Service – Adelaide River War Cemetery

It’ll be an early start for Adelaide River residents, with The Dawn Service ceremony kicking off slightly earlier than its northern neighbours, Darwin and Palmerston.

Katherine

5:45am, Dawn Service – Katherine Cenotaph

A one kilometre walk from the service to follow, the Country Club is offering an early bite to eat for the town’s early risers.

8:30am, Community March – Stuart Highway

Step off at the Eastern end (behind BP) and march along Katherine Terrace, breaking off at the Katherine Cenotaph.

Tennant Creek

6am, Dawn Service and gunfire breakfast – Tennant Creek RSL

A gunfire breakfast as well as a ceremony will take place for Tennant Creek locals.

9am, Anzac March – departing Transit Centre

Commemorating the Diggers will continue after The Dawn Service, with a small march available for locals to attend.

Alice Springs

5:30am, Gunfire breakfast – Garden Cemetery

Sit down and have a cup of coffee or tea with veterans and community members for the early morning start.

6.00am, Dawn Service – Garden Cemetery Anzac Memorial

All are welcome to attend the event, which will include the Ode of Remembrance and the Last Post.

9:30am, Anzac March – Town Council Lawns

In town, a march will take place which is expected to include current serving ADF members as well as veterans.

10.30am, Mid-morning Service – Anzac Hill

A second ceremony will be held on ANZAC Hill for those who missed the Dawn Service.

There will be free buses to ferry people up and down ANZAC Hill.
