Whether it’s an escape from family chaos or stepping out for a classy date night, new adults-only restaurant GiGi has got you covered after officially opening at Edge Hill this week.

Owner Lauren Vico said the restaurant and cocktail bar was unique.

“It’s a relaxing place for parents to escape the chaos and come for a nice bottle of wine, relaxing lunch or dinner in a chic venue,” Ms Vico said.

Ms Vico said she wanted to do provide different in the hospitality market.

“It’s an escape without having to leave so it’s perfect when you need a respite or a date night,” she said.

“We’re an over-18 venue, so there’s no pets and no children.”

Ms Vico, who also owns Ozmosis on Collins Ave, said GiGi was the complete opposite of the popular restaurant.

“Ozmosis is the casual, family-friendly place and this is the Mediterranean-style escape from that,” she said.

“It’s bougie, chic, and a bit more elegant, so people can get dressed up to come out.”

The restaurant also features a cocktail bar and walk-in wine cellar.

“Our wine selection comes from Australia, Greece, Italy and France,” she said.
“When customers dine in, they can buy two wine bottles, per person, to take away.”

Inspired by her love of travel, Ms Vico said the restaurant offered a Greek-inspired menu with traditional delicacies.

“What's been really popular is our handmade ravioli, spanakopita, the moussaka has been really popular, as well as the saganaki and the lamb ravioli,” she said.

“And one of our cocktails, the spicy peach margarita, has done very well.”

Gigi is located at 22/110-114 Collins Ave, Edge Hill.
