From a dedicated tequila bar and Mexican inspired menu to digital darts and a bowling alley, Cairns’ newest social club, Mexicairns, is set to turn heads.
Owner Peter McLeay said he wanted to provide something different for the Cairns social scene, blending good food, top of the line drinks and old school games to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere.
“We’re basically trying to build a competitive social venue, so mixing high end food and beverages with old school games,” Mr McLeay said.
Menu items include tacos, quesadillas, pizzas and sliders, along with their signature frozen margaritas.
“It’s a Mexican inspired menu so we’ve got a range of tacos with corn tortillas, then we went a little bit freestyle with pizzas, sliders and things people like as well as, quesadillas and ceviche,” he said.
“We’ve got daybeds, booths and tables with QR codes where you can order all your drinks and food to the tables which keeps you in the moment and having fun with each other.”
The venue, which officially opened on Friday night features three drinks bars, a Mexican-inspired food menu and six social gaming sites.
“We’ve got augmented reality darts, pool tables, two bowling alleys, two 18ft shuffleboard tables, ping-pong tables and a couple of beer pong tables as well,” he said.
“So there’s a mix of games to try and keep everyone present and in the moment. It should be a fun venue.”
Mexicairns is located at 36 Lake Street.
