A serious brawl at a Cairns family restaurant involving up to 20 people is being investigated by police and one teen alleged to be involved has already been “dealt with.”
Police were called to a disturbance at a Charlotte Cl restaurant at Woree about 4.30pm on Tuesday in response to reports a group of people became involved in a physical altercation.
A manager at the local McDonalds confirmed the incident took place at the fast-food restaurant but refused to not comment further.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said officers arrived at the incident and “dispersed the group.”
“A 15-year-old Bungalow girl was charged with one count each of commit public nuisance, contravene direction or requirement police officer, and obstruct police officer,” the spokeswoman said.
“She was dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
“Investigations into others involved are continuing.”
The spokeswoman said no physical injuries were reported and investigators urged anyone with relevant information or vision of the incident to contact police.
The incident was widely shared on social media across crime groups with the vision showing two people allegedly locked in a grapple while on the ground while being surrounded by more than a dozen others.
