Man in critical condition after being hit by car on Bruce Highway north of Tully
A man in his 20s remains in critical condition after being hit by a car on the Bruce Highway.

A man was reportedly lying on the road when he was struck by a 4WD at Midgenoo, 130km south of Cairns, early on Monday morning.
QPS said initial investigations indicated the 4WD struck the man who appeared to have been lying on the road at 1.50am on Monday.
The man in his 20s sustained life threatening injuries and was flown to Townsville Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Part of the Bruce Highway north of Tully was closed for several hours yesterday following the incident as Queensland police and ambulance services were called to attend the crash,
Yesterday, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed a man had been transported to Tully Hospital following a vehicle and pedestrian incident at Midgenoo, 10km north of Tully and was later transferred to Townsville Hospital.
The driver of the 4WD was not physically injured in the incident.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
A Cairns truck driver, who requested not to be named, said he was first on the scene at 2am and said the man’s injuries appeared very serious.
“He looked to be in his 30s,” he said.
“The driver was shocked, they had no idea what was going on.”
